This Privacy Policy describes how Safety Signal ("the App"), developed by PS Labs, handles your information.

Safety Signal uses location-aware data and third-party APIs to show relevant public safety, environmental, and infrastructure information. This policy explains what information may be used, how it is used, and your choices.

Location Data

Safety Signal may request access to your device location so the App can show information relevant to your current area.

• Your location is used to retrieve nearby crime, weather, air quality, street lighting, and flood risk information.
• Your location may be shared with third-party data providers as part of API requests needed to deliver these features.
• If you do not grant location access, some features may be limited or unavailable.
• You can change location permissions at any time in your device settings.

Third-Party Data Sources

The App communicates with third-party APIs to provide its core functionality. These may include:

• Police UK API: Used to retrieve local crime and policing information.
• Weather data providers: Used to retrieve weather conditions and forecasts.
• Air quality data providers: Used to retrieve local air quality information.
• Street lighting data providers: Used to retrieve lighting-related data where available.
• Flood risk data providers: Used to retrieve flood alerts or flood risk information where available.

When you use these features, relevant inputs such as your device location or selected area may be sent to those providers so they can return results to the App.

Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription, billing and subscription management are handled entirely through Apple's in-app purchase system.

• PS Labs does not receive or store your payment card details.
• Apple manages billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds in accordance with its own terms and policies.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple account subscription settings.

Data We May Process

Depending on how you use the App, the following categories of data may be processed:

• Approximate or precise device location, if you grant permission
• Search areas or map regions selected in the App
• API response data related to crime, weather, air quality, street lighting, and flood risk
• Subscription status information made available through Apple

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information is only shared where needed to operate the App's features, such as sending location or area information to the relevant third-party API provider or using Apple for subscription processing.

Data Retention

Data returned by third-party APIs may be stored temporarily on your device for performance, offline viewing, or convenience. Payment information is not stored by PS Labs and remains subject to Apple's own systems and policies.

Children's Privacy

Safety Signal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
